Goal against inter, tactical background

Let's take a look at how Juventus start and creates attacking play and how it leads to the first goal against Inter.

Bonucci, as the most technical defender from Juve's three central defenders, always tries to gain the space in front of him. This happens in the first minutes of the game that lately allows Juventus to score a goal.

1. When Bonucci receives the ball Cassano tries to press him, but Bonucci easily gets passed him and penetrates the space created in front. as he continues moving into space Pirlo starts to move away to let Bonucci take up all territory.

We meet this movement in juventus' matches very often.

2. The Moment continues and Pirlo Passes to Asamoah who has nice option to continue play by passing the ball to Marchisio who would have found himself in an open space (pink) but instead Marchiso starts to move towards left flank almost instantly. Marchisio knows that there are Matri-Quagliarela behind him who are trained to do special tricks prepared by Conte.

In different matches you will constantly see juventus' strikers aligning so that when one striker moves away another will receive the ball instead. The same thing happens here, Matri comes inward to allow Quagliarella take postion behind his back.

Asamoah Passes to Matri and the following happens.

If you go back for several month to see the first match between these teams, you will notice the same trick performed by Vucinic and Giovinco before a scored goal

3. When Quagliarella gets the ball there are 3 good options available.

  1. Pass to Marchisio on the left side.
  2. Try to pass to Vidal
  3. kick the ball

Pay attention to how well Marchisio and Vidal Join an attacking play, this happens constantly and it is the key tactics of Antonio Conte.

Quagliarella chooses to kick the ball and scores a beautiful goal.

Whole action:
